The 5 Types Of Disobedience

Types of disobedience

I DESIRE OBEDIENCE THAN SACRIFICE

1Samuel 15:22, 23

No obedience, no sacrifice

God needs you (your body) to do (obedience) as a sacrifice than offering material things as a sacrifice – Romans 12:1

What will you not give God materially if you offer your whole body to Him as a living sacrifice?

DISOBEDIENCE NUMBER 1 – THE SIN OF NOT PRAYING

Luke 18:1 – 7

Then  Jesus told them a parable to show them they should always pray and not lose heart. He said,  “In a certain city  there was a judge who neither feared God nor respected people. There was also a widow  in that city who kept coming to him and saying, ‘Give me justice against my adversary.’  For a while he refused, but later on he said to himself, ‘Though I neither fear God nor have regard for people, yet because this widow keeps on bothering me, I will give her justice, or in the end she will wear me out by her unending pleas.’”

And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unrighteous judge says!

Won’t God give justice to his chosen ones, who cry out  to him day and night?  Will he delay  long to help them? I tell you, he will give them justice speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”

Analogy: If you have a brother, friend, husband, wife, or child who longer talks to you, refuses to have conversations with you. They see you and pass by though you keep on giving them their needs. Every day, you continue to give them gifts, you see them, they hear about you, your home is open to them but they just do not want to talk to you sometimes for a week, a month or not at all?

How will you see them? What will you think of them?

DISOBEDIENCE NUMBER 2 – THE SIN OF NOT FELLOWSHIPPING

Luke 17:11 – 19

Now on the way to Jerusalem, Jesus was passing along between Samaria and Galilee. As  he was entering a village, ten men with leprosy met him. They  stood at a distance,  raised their voices and said, “Jesus, Master, have mercy  on us.”  When he saw them he said, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went along, they were cleansed. Then one of them, when he saw he was healed, turned back, praising. God with a loud voice. He fell with his face to the ground at Jesus’ feet and thanked him. (Now he was a Samaritan.)

Then Jesus said, “Were not ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? Was no one found to turn back and give praise to God except this foreigner?”

Then he said to the man, “Get up and go your way. Your faith has made you well.”

DISOBEDIENCE NUMBER 3 – THE SIN OF NOT PREACHING THE GOSPEL

He has commanded us to GO!

If you do not go, you are disobeying Him

Matthew 28:19, 20

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you  always, to the end of the age.

Romans 10:14, 15

How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

DISOBEDIENCE NUMBER 4 – THE SIN OF NOT WINNING THE LOST

Proverbs 11:30

The fruit of the righteous is like a tree producing life, and the one who wins souls is wise.

DISOBEDIENCE NUMBER 5 – THE SIN OF NOT LOVING THE LORD

If you love me obey my commands – John 14:14, 15

Verse 13, 14 God being so good, delivers people from their troubles because they call on Him with a humble heart (Romans 10:13)

Verse 15 After people are delivered, some do not fellowship with the Lord again. They do not obey His commands, they complain and give excuses. This is the sin of not loving the Lord

1Corinthians 16:22

Let anyone who has no love for the Lord be accursed. Our Lord, come

Deuteronomy 6:5

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.
